AOTE TIANJIN PUMP CO., LTD, a China-based manufacturer with more than 22 years of industry expertise, specializes in producing Non-clogging Submersible Sewage Pumps. This type of pump boasts versatile performance and can adapt to a wide range of operating scenarios.
The Non-clogging Submersible Sewage Pump is an ideal solution for sewage drainage, municipal wastewater treatment and
environmental protection engineering. It is widely deployed for wastewater handling in venues including hospitals,
hotels, residential communities and subway stations. Additionally, it works well for slurry drainage at construction
sites. Featuring excellent non-clogging performance, this pump is also capable of conveying water mixed with soft
fibrous substances.
The pump is placed down along with the dude rod and automatically connected to the drainage pipeline system. Less cost
for mounting and lowering the cost for repairing of submersible sewage pump.
2.Moveable hard pipe installation
The pump is supported by its foundation, the hard pipe is connected to the pipeline system.
3.Moveable soft pipe installation
The pump is supported by its foundation, the soft pipe joint is connected to the outlet rubber pipe, of multiple purpose
easy to be mounted, the pump can be easily moved from one sewage well to another.
4.Fixed dry installation
For those pump system able to be subjected to water flood and for connecting to wet/dry well or pipeline.
5.Fixed wet installation
The pump is supported by its foundation and fixed on the bottom of the sewage well with the outlet connected to the
pipeline, vertically mounted.
Submersible Sewage Pump advantages
Feature
Description
Non-clogging open impeller design
Open impeller with swept-back vanes helps reduce fiber entanglement and blockage risks. Performance has
been tested using 5 cm cotton strips under laboratory conditions.
Corrosion and wear-resistant materials
Duplex stainless steel (Grade 2205) is available for corrosive sewage applications with pH values from 2
to 12. Material hardness reaches up to 45 HRC for improved wear resistance.
Short lead time for standard models
Standard pumps up to 75 kW can be shipped within 15 working days after order confirmation. Expedited
production options are available for urgent projects.
Overseas service and spare parts support
Spare parts inventory is available in Singapore and Dubai. Technical support is provided within 4 hours
via WhatsApp, WeChat, or email.
Documented quality inspection
Each pump undergoes hydraulic performance testing before shipment. Test reports and inspection videos
can be provided for customer verification before packaging.
Application Scenarios
Our open impeller sewage pumps are widely used in:
Municipal wastewater lift stations – Designed for continuous operation under frequent start/stop conditions, with verified performance over 15,000 operating cycles.
Construction site dewatering – Suitable for wastewater containing high levels of sand and suspended solids, handling slurry with up to 15% solid concentration while reducing impeller wear.
Hospital and hotel sewage sumps – The open impeller structure allows passage of fibrous materials such as surgical gauze, hair and sanitary wipes, helping prevent blockages compared with traditional closed-impeller pumps.
Subway station drainage systems – Compact design with automatic coupling installation enables quick pump removal and maintenance in space-limited underground environments.

FAQ
1. What is the main advantage of an open impeller over a closed impeller in sewage pumps?
The main advantage of an open impeller is its improved resistance to clogging. Compared with closed impellers that
have narrower flow passages, the open-vane design allows fibrous materials such as hair, gauze, rags, and suspended
solids to pass through more easily.
In sewage applications containing sand or abrasive particles, open impellers also maintain more stable performance
because there is no wear ring clearance that directly affects pump efficiency. As wear increases, the performance
reduction is usually more gradual compared with closed impeller designs.
2. What is the maximum solid size this pump can handle?
The standard Non-clogging Submersible Sewage Pump can pass solids up to Φ76 mm. For applications requiring larger
particle handling, customized impeller designs are available with a maximum solid passage of up to Φ100 mm.
The actual solid passage depends on the pump model, motor power, and operating conditions. Our engineers will
confirm the suitable configuration based on flow rate, head, and medium characteristics.
3. Can the pump handle hot water or corrosive liquids?
Yes. The pump material and sealing configuration can be selected according to the operating environment:
Medium temperature up to 40°C: Standard cast iron construction with nitrile rubber seals is suitable for general
sewage applications.
Medium temperature up to 80°C: High-temperature mechanical seals (SiC/SiC) and Class H insulation are recommended
for continuous hot water operation.
Corrosive sewage (pH 2–12): Stainless steel options including SS304, SS316, SS316L, and Duplex Stainless Steel
(2205/2507) are available for the impeller and pump casing.
Please provide the liquid temperature, pH value, and chemical composition when selecting the pump, so the
appropriate material combination can be recommended.
4. Does open impeller design reduce pump efficiency compared to closed impeller?
Under clean-water conditions, closed impellers may achieve slightly higher peak efficiency, usually around 2–3%
higher depending on the hydraulic design.
However, sewage applications often contain fibers, solids, and abrasive particles. In these conditions, open
impellers can maintain more stable operating performance because they reduce clogging risks and are less affected by
wear-related clearance changes.
Our hydraulic design is optimized to maintain reliable efficiency during long-term operation in sewage environments,
especially where blockage and abrasive wear are common concerns.
