Drainage Submersible Mining Pump

Drainage Submersible Mining Pump is designed for continuous water removal in demanding mining environments, including open-pit mines, underground mines, and mineral extraction projects. With high flow capacity, deep lifting capability, and wear-resistant construction, it handles groundwater, sediment-containing water, and harsh operating conditions while reducing downtime and maintenance costs. Available with customized materials and motor configurations for coal, copper, gold, diamond, and other mining applications.

Water accumulation is one of the major challenges affecting mining efficiency and safety. Excess groundwater, rainfall, and underground seepage can interrupt production, damage equipment, and increase operating costs.

The Drainage Submersible Mining Pump is engineered for heavy-duty mine dewatering applications where continuous operation and long service life are required. Designed with a high-performance centrifugal hydraulic system and robust submersible motor technology, it provides stable water removal even in deep mines, large open pits, and environments containing abrasive particles.

From coal and copper mines to gold, tin, and diamond extraction sites, this pump delivers dependable drainage performance under demanding conditions.

Key benefits

Maximum operational reliability.

The lower the load on the unit from axial thrust and drawn-In solids and silt, the higher the operational reliability.

Long service life.

The higher the operational reliability, the longer the service life. For submersible motor pumps featuring HDM that can be 10 years or more.

High cost-effectiveness.

The longer the service life and the higher the efficiency(up to 90%-plus), the lower the operating costs.

Structure of Drainage Submersible Mining Pump

1.Pump

(1) The submersible pump features a centrifugal impeller and a radial guide vane structure; during operation, the liquid is drawn in radially and discharged radially;
(2) This submersible pump primarily consists of the impeller, seal ring, upper and lower guide vanes, upper and lower intermediate sections, suction section, discharge section, pump shaft, upper thrust bearing, guide vane sleeve, and intermediate transition section.
(3) The pump’s working chamber consists of the impeller, guide vanes, and intermediate sections. The impeller, bearing sleeves, and steel sleeves form the rotor assembly, while sliding bearings are installed in the suction section, discharge section, and intermediate transition section to support the rotating rotor assembly.
(4) To balance axial forces, the impellers are arranged symmetrically: the upper impeller rotates clockwise, while the lower impeller is installed in the opposite direction. The axial forces generated by the impellers during operation cancel each other out, and any residual axial force is borne by the thrust bearing connected to the motor, thereby extending the service life of the unit.
(5) The rotor is positioned using the radial shoulder of the pump coupling to align with the motor bearing housing coupling, and secured axially with bolts to form a rigid connection.

2.Motor Structure

(1) The motor consists of stator, rotor, upper and lower guide bearings, thrust bearings, base, shaft extension seal assembly, and other components.

(2) The motor shaft extension is sealed using a rubber-reinforced oil seal and a mechanical seal.

(3) A rubber expansion bladder is installed at the bottom of the motor to balance the pressure between the motor’s internal cavity and the external water when thermal expansion and contraction occur inside the motor or when the external water level fluctuates. The lower part of the motor is lined with corrosion-resistant galvanized sheet metal.

(4) The outer surface of the motor housing features cooling fins and cooling water channels. During operation, the interior of the motor is filled with water, which is circulated by the impeller at the bottom of the rotor to ensure uniform internal temperature. At the same time, the high-speed water flow over the motor’s outer surface dissipates heat from the housing, cooling fins, and water channel surfaces.

(5) The motor’s stator windings use high-voltage, water-resistant insulated wire, which offers excellent temperature resistance and insulation properties. The winding wires are connected to a high-voltage, water-resistant power cable. Additionally, temperature sensors are attached to the surface of the winding ends to monitor the water temperature around them. The temperature sensors are connected to a four-core cable; both cables are routed out through the cable exit holes in the upper guide bearing housing.

(6) The rotor is of the squirrel-cage type, with the cage made of copper conductors.

(7) The upper and lower guide bearing housings are fitted with bearing shells, and a thrust bearing is installed at the lower end of the rotor. The thrust bearing assembly consists of upper and lower thrust bearings and a sliding plate, which are used to support axial forces; the upper thrust bearing is a segmented annular type, while the lower thrust bearing is a segmented sector type.
